Back to School: Basic College Admission Requirements for Transfer Students

It's that time of year again - back to school! And while the kids are shopping for backpacks and binders, you may be considering returning to school yourself by applying to college.

Applying to college as an adult with transfer credit can be a little different than applying as a beginning freshmen, but there are still general admission requirements that must be met. If you are just beginning your journey back to school, here's what you need to know about general admission requirements.

While there are exceptions, the basic admission requirements for our four-year public USG eMajor institutional partners are:
  • 2.0 GPA on previously completed college coursework
  • Prior English and Math course completion
Don't meet those requirements? No problem. Contact our eMajor Enrollment team today for guidance on possible alternatives.

Your admission eligibility will be assessed through the submission of your official college transcript(s) from every college or university you've previously attended. If you have less than 30 transferable semester hours, the institution will also require an official high school transcript or GED scores.

If you have not already done so, it's a great idea to request an unofficial transcript evaluation from eMajor. This will give you a preliminary idea on where you stand before officially applying for admission.

Contact us today, and let us help you on your journey back to school!

The Search for Flexibility and Quality Then she discovered Georgia Southwestern University’s online programs through USG eCampus. “It felt like a breath of ...
